The Bread of Presence

God loves us so much! It is one of those life mysteries that is such a revelation it is hard to even comprehend.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  (Isaiah 55:8-9.)

I was recently reading how far that could possibly be. The closest that the edge of the universe could be is 15.5 Billion light years away. A light year is how far light can travel in a year. In 1 second light can travel around the earth 6.5 times. It takes only 8 minutes for light from the sun to reach us on Earth. 1 light year in miles is 5.88 x 1012 miles. And if you don’t know scientific notation, that’s 5,880,000,000,000 miles. Or 5.88 trillion miles. Now multiply that distance by 15.5 Billion.

Yes this is a bit techy, but fundamentally it shows us how great our God is, and how little we are. We can look at the numbers all we want but it is still very difficult to comprehend the awesome power. In fact it is easier to just say “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” (Ephesians 3:20). His grace is sufficient for me. (II Corinthians 12:9)

I could go into great detail about what was revealed to me and my personal experience. But that doesn’t help you at all. Check out the video on YouTube and have your own experience!
